How To: February's Best Jailbreak Tweaks for iOS softModders

February's Best Jailbreak Tweaks for iOS softModders

February may be the shortest month of the year, but for iOS softModders, there were plenty of apps and tweaks to fill up those days. Whether patching major security holes or just a tweak to make speed dialing more efficient, there was a plethora of great mods for our jailbroken iOS 7 devices. These are our favorites from the month.

SSL Security 7.0.6 Patch Without Losing Jailbreak

Keeping our iPhones safe from attacks and security breaches should be objective numero uno. While having dope tweaks and cool themes is great, it's probably more beneficial to have a phone that hackers and bots cannot reach.

Apple's most recent update included a very important security patch for all iOS 7 users, but installing it meant we would lose jailbreak, having to redo the process all over again. While that may be easy enough, jailbreak OG Ryan Petrich released his own patch just for jailbreakers.

Installing this patch addresses the security issues and keeps your phone jailbroken, making this a total win-win.

Mobius: Endless Home Screen Scrolling

When scrolling through home screens on your iPhone, you'll eventually come to the end, meaning you'll have to swipe all of the way back to return. Mobius is a free tweak that adds endless scrolling to your iOS 7 device, bringing the last page back to the first page and vice versa.

To infinity and beyond, my jailbreakers.

StatusBar Weather: Weather Info All the Time

The status bar is probably the most viewed area on your iPhone, allowing you to check the time, data connection, and battery life—but what about the weather? Knowing if it is going to be chilly or rainy can save you from a bad hair day or damp socks. With StatusForecast, you can add your local weather information right into that always useful status bar.

You'll be able to view the current temperature and location, as well as useful weather condition icons.

PassDial: Speed Dial Contacts from Your Lock Screen

If you want to speed dial from your lock screen faster than the time it takes you to read this, but don't want to use Siri, then checkout PassDial. This bad boy will enable you to create secret, four-digit passcodes that call your favorite contacts instead of unlocking your iPhone.

It's one of those tweaks that just makes things faster and easier in life.

Cylinder: Make Scrolling Through Home Screens Fun

Sliding from home screen to home screen isn't meant to be exciting or captivating—but it should be! Cylinder is a free tweak that adds new transition effects when sliding from screen to screen, like a 3D box or an app-spinning transition that gives me borderline-epilepsy.

This tweak will definitely make an unnoticed action, like sliding screens, a lot more entertaining.

TimePasscode: A Constantly Changing Lock Screen Passcode

The most secure passcode is one that regularly changes, so change it with every passing minute. TimePasscode is a free tweak that is constantly changing your passcode to match whatever the current time is, which is both easy to remember and difficult to guess.

Unless your friends are aware of this tweak, you shouldn't' have trouble keeping their noses out of your device.

Badge Alerts: Customize Them However You Want

Makeovers aren't just for houses and poorly dressed adults—they're all about making the default a little less bland. So take care of the bland home screen by replacing the standard red and white badge alerts with any color you want, stepping up your iPhone game.

It's not just color, either, you can add custom animations and badge shapes like ribbons or skulls as well.

Flappy Bird: Keep It Interesting with Themes

There's no denying the immense popularity that precedes Flappy Bird, but let's be honest, we're all a little burnt out about it now. The game's addictive nature kept us tapping our screens in captivation, but eventually the appeal dissipated, much like Amanda Byne's mental state. Give Flappy Bird one last chance by applying Nicholas Cage's face to it or one of the other five Flappy Bird themes that are sure to make you die laughing.

Play Game Boy Advance & Game Boy Color Games

If you grew up in the '90s or were a fan of Pokémon, then you understand how important the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance systems are. These two handheld gaming devices featured some of the best mobile games way before mobile gaming became second nature like it is now. Luckily, we can still play classic games like Pokémon Ruby or Super Mario Bros. on our iOS 7 devices.

Available for both jailbroken and non-jailbroken devices.

So there you have it, our best of the month for jailbreakers. What were your favorites? Let us know below.
